With so many idols in the market dominating the music scene, many idols have expanded their horizons and have taken places in the musical industry. Idols have typically shown great ticket sales power, and over 20 idols have gone into musicals. However, while idols may be able to produce great ticket sales when they star in the musical, not all idols have necessarily been praised for their work.

As they land major roles in musicals, idols undergo close scrutiny from musical critics. Many critics have not been wholly impressed and have not highly praised the idols who came to be musical actors. There has been debate over the idols getting large roles in musicals despite their lack of proven skill. In the last month till March 13th, Kukinews had 11 musical critics and producers assess "musical idols" on their skills in a survey. The grading criteria would be based upon four main categories: singing, acting, marketability, and growing potential. Within each category, two names would be chosen, and the one that came in first would be given three points, and the second two points.

The idols that were chosen to be in the skill category were Taeyeon, J, Kyuhyun, Taeyeon, Onew, and Kim Junsu. The idols chosen were taken based upon ranks. However, some of the respondents turned in a blank paper and flatly claimed that, "None of them has the skill that is worth evaluation."

JYJ's Kim Junsu managed to receive particularly good scores in the marketability and singing ability sector. Professor Jin Jeonghoon of the Chung Kang Culture Industry University said that "Kim Junsu has proven himself through his roles in 'Mozart!' and 'Tears of Heaven' to be a musical star. SHINee’s maknae Taemin will be transferring into an arts high school in order to better accommodate his hectic schedule.

On March 2nd, a representative of SM Entertainment spoke with Newsen and revealed, “SHINee’s Taemin will be leaving Chung Dam High School to attend an arts high school.”

Taemin, who will be entering his senior year this year, has decided to transfer in order to focus on his schedule for SHINee’s Japanese advancement. The decision came about because his career commitments made it difficult for him to meet the required attendance figure for Chung Dam High School.

Netizens commented, “It’s an important year for him, I hope the change doesn’t mess anything up” and “He’s leaving in order to fulfill his dreams, so I don’t think it’s anything bad. I respect his decision.”

Amidst recent reports that SHINee's Taemin is leaving Chungdam High School due to problems fulfilling its attendance criteria, a spokesperson from the school has come forward to deny this, saying, "It is not true that his attendance is substandard."

On the 2nd of March, through a phone call with EdailySPN, the spokesperson stated, "Although it has become generally known that Taemin is leaving school due to attendance problems, this is in fact different from the truth. If he had indeed failed to meet attendance expectations, he would of course have be dismissed from school. In this case though, he is leaving of his own accord."

Prior to this, Taemin was caught up in a controversy when the subject of his leaving school was reported by the media.

Currently in his third year, Taemin is transferring to an arts school in order to better accommodate his promotion schedule with idol group SHINee.

now, everyone's ringing tone is kpop songs

when i watched kdrama online and i have to wait for another 6123897 years then only i can watch it on the tv
dshjdfh and it is chinese dubbed!!
now, well you can simply watch them in animax and kbs world, kbs airs the latest dramas etc and one hd

when i don't even know how to watch variety shows and i had to download them which took me 932847903 hours
or i have to searched them on yt which is very hard!
now, some of the shows are even on tv and it is not that hard download since thee download links are everywhere

when kpop wasn't really a music people would listen to
now, rofl they are all over erafm

when you only watch their MVs online
now, they are EVERYWHERE all the channels, shopping malls OTL

when i got a hq pics of my biased, of SJ, of SHINee i was like very happy and people do credits etc
now, some of new fans edit them, cropped out the watermarks and even add their own watermarks!!!!!
